Devlog #3 – Animating characters in Spine

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to share a little behind-the-scenes look at how we animate characters for our visual novel using Spine.
In Spine, we start by splitting the character into separate layers — arms, head, torso, hair, etc. Then we rig the character by building a skeleton of bones and attaching each part to the right bone. This setup lets us create smooth, dynamic movement without redrawing each frame manually.
Here’s a short preview of one of the animations we’re currently working on. Still a work in progress, but it gives a good idea of how things come together.
Let us know if you’d like to see more technical breakdowns or have any questions about the process!
Here’s another example of additional animation: https://www.patreon.com/posts/devlog-3-titjob-132404012?utm_medium=clipboard_cop...
